Woman accused of making threats, fighting with sisters

A Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with terroristic threats and acts.

According to the warrant:

33-year-old Tiarra Shanique Palmer threatened to kill a woman and the woman’s small children back in October of last year on East 14th Street.

Palmer made the threats after attacking a witness.

Palmer was arrested early Thursday after fighting with her sisters at her Reservoir Street home.

One of the sisters had a swollen face and some of her hair had been pulled out, according jail records.

Palmer is additionally charged with battery, simple battery, failure to appear in court, and a couple of felony probation violations.

Two arrested during traffic stop

Two North Rome residents are facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Calhoun Avenue at Atteiram Drive early Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Teresa Dawn Threadgill and 59-year-old Sylvester Askew were found with suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe, scales, and an open container of alcohol after being stopped for a tag light violation.

Both are charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, and open container.

After entering the jail, Threadgill was found with more meth, as well as suspected marijuana, and lied to an officer multiple times about the suspected drugs, according to the report.

She was also charged with possession of drugs past the guard line, false statements and writings, possession of marijuana, suspended registration, no insurance, and no tag light.

Man accused of damaging car

A West Rome man is accused of damaging a vehicle back in July on Willow Run Drive.

According to an arrest warrant:

22-year-old Xavion Demount Clowers kicked the door frame of a Nissan Maxima, causing more than $500 in damage.

He is charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

Woman already in jail facing additional charge

A woman arrested earlier this week for shoplifting from a cosmetics store in the Riverbend shopping center is facing an additional felony theft by taking charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

53-year-old Sharon Diane Redden of Silver Creek obtained funds from a 56-year-old woman in November of last year.

Redden is also facing a forgery charge for allegedly making a fake will for her deceased father.
