Rome Police responded to a report of a dog being shot in East Rome on Thursday.
According to a Rome Police report:
The dog’s owner, who lives in Florida but was doing work on a home on East 13th Street, said he heard two shots and then his mixed breed dog came running into the house with a severely injured paw.
The dog was taken to the emergency vet for surgery, which cost an estimated $5,000.
