Showers and thunderstorms will move across the area this evening through early Wednesday morning.

An Enhanced Risk (level 3 out of 5) covers most of the area, including Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, Polk and Gordon Counties along with all of west Georgia, with a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) elsewhere.

Damaging winds, tornadoes, and hail up to one inch will be the primary threats.

Stronger storms may also produce locally heavy rain.

The timing for the arrival of the storms is around 10 p.m. to midnight.

Storms are slated to come to an end late Wednesday morning with the passage of a cold front.
