Cedartown fire officials are requesting drivers to avoid West Avenue as crews continue to battle a fully-involved blaze at the former Jockey plant across from Goodyear Park.

Photos from earlier Tuesday afternoon show flames consuming a large section of the building and thick black smoke billowing above the building and across West Avenue.

No further details are available at this time. Cedartown city officials are asking drivers to find an alternate route away from West Avenue if traveling in the area.
