Rome City Schools hires new assistant principal for Rome High School

Rome City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly “Kim” Vaughn as the new Assistant Principal of Rome High School, effective the upcoming academic year. A Rome native and a proud product of Rome City Schools, Vaughn brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education to her new role.

Vaughn currently serves as the middle school assessment coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School, the largest school in the state of Virginia, within the Fairfax County Public Schools system. During her tenure at LBSS, she has made significant contributions to the educational community, demonstrating her expertise in curriculum development, leadership, and student engagement.

With an impressive background in education, Vaughn has held various roles within esteemed institutions such as Atlanta Public Schools, Cobb County School District, Rome City Schools, and Grambling State University. Her extensive experience includes teaching health and physical education, dance, and serving as a department co-chair, veteran observation teacher, and assistant artistic director. She has also coached multiple sports teams.

Vaughn holds an educational specialist and leadership endorsement in educational leadership from Old Dominion University, as well as a master’s degree in sports administration and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Grambling State University. Her educational qualifications and leadership training equip her with the necessary skills to drive positive change and empower students to realize their full potential.
