Lithonia man charged with burglary

A Lithonia man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on charges of 1st-degree burglary, felony obstruction of officers, and misdemeanor obstruction.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Hollis Keith Pope entered a home on Woodbine Avenue in Rome and then fled on foot when he saw police.

Pope also struck an officer in the head with his left foot as he was being taken into custody.

Woman arrested on a felony theft by deception charge

A Cave Spring woman is accused of selling the same vehicle to two different buyers.

According to the arrest warrant:

45-year-old Penny Belinda Stroud sold the 2012 Ford F150 to one man for $3,500 and then later sold the same truck to another man for $1,800.

Stroud is charged with a felony count of theft by deception.

FCSO arrests five men for sex offender registry violation

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office took five men into custody on Wednesday and all accused of violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry law.

Those arrested were:

43-year-old Christopher Dell Shadwick, of a Warren Road address

79-year-old Charles Larkin Ables, of an Indian Trace address

29-year-old Caleb Vincent Cozart, of a Leafmore Road address

24-year-old Otto Jabar Orr, of a Superba Avenue address

43-year-old James Harrison Archer II, of a High Point Court address in Silver Creek

Georgia law requires sex offenders to register with the sheriff’s office. They must also register their vehicles and report when they gain employment.

Ables, Orr, and Archer are also charged with probation violations.
