Two people died Saturday in two separate wrecks on Alabama Highway.
The first wreck occurred at around 6 a.m. at Woods Road. A vehicle pulled out from the Woods Road cutoff behind the convenience store and was struck by a log truck.
The driver, identified by Deputy Floyd County Coroner Brent Whatley as 26-year-old Channing Wallace, suffered fatal injuries.
Then at around 2 p.m., a Dodge pickup crossed the center line on Alabama Highway, clipped a second vehicle, and then struck another pickup head-on.
Whatley identified the driver as 50-year-old Trevor Britt of Rome.
Floyd County Police are investigating both wrecks.
