Several public hearings for rezoning requests are on the agenda for Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting.
They include a proposed tire shop in an existing metal warehouse-type structure on West Callahan Street, a duplex development on Holder Street, construction of a single-family home on Rogers Drive, and an application for high-density traditional residential on Maple Avenue to match the current use.
Commissioners will also consider a resolution to authorize the city manager to execute a contract with Verizon to upgrade the in-building radio system for the city’s waterworks and for other purposes.
Proclamations for Georgia Cities Week, Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Crème Victims’ Rights Week are also on the agenda for the meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
During the caucus, which starts at 5 p.m. the commission will hear a presentation from the planning department regarding Myrtle Hill.
