Marietta man accused of driving to Floyd County to meet ‘minor’
Floyd County Police arrested a Marietta man Thursday on charges of criminal attempt to commit child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, and use of a computer to solicit a child.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
27-year-old Austin Allen Haight made online contact with someone he believed to be under 16.
He engaged in graphic conversations and then drove to an undisclosed location in Floyd County to meet the person for sex acts.
Report: Man bit EMT
A 46-year-old Rome man is facing charges in an incident in May of last year at an apartment in High Street.
According to the arrest warrant:
Jason Wayne Roberson bit an emergency medical technician, causing the victim to bleed.
Roberson is charged with a felony count of obstructing emergency personnel and a misdemeanor count of battery.
Man charged with possession of crack cocaine
A traffic stop on North Fifth Avenue late last week ended with the arrest of a Rome man for possession of cocaine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
64-year-old Cedric Orrin Mills Sr. was found in possession of crack cocaine after a K9 alerted the officer.
Mills was also charged with driving without a license and a probation violation.
