Georgia State Patrol –

On Wednesday, January 25, at approximately 3:50 AM, a silver KIA Forte drove by Ms. Haley Cunningham (Age 28 of Calhoun) was traveling north on I-75 Northbound near Mile Marker 318. Ms. Cunningham lost control of her vehicle and struck the center median guardrail before coming to a final rest in the center lane of I-75 Northbound, with her vehicle disabled and facing a southwest direction.

Ms. Cunningham’s vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer in the center lane, ejecting Ms. Cunningham. The tractor-trailer then traveled off the east edge of the interstate, while overturning. A flatbed tractor-trailer then struck Ms. Cunningham in the right travel lane. Ms. Cunningham succumbed to her injuries on the scene. The next-of-kin has been notified.

The driver and passenger of the overturned tractor-trailer were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. I-75 Northbound was shut down completely following the crash for approximately two hours and 40 minutes.

GSP has stated that these are the preliminary details and that the crash is still under investigation.
