43-year-old Rome Man arrested for Aggravated Assault

Floyd County Jail Records –

A 43-year-old Rome man was arrested at his residence by the Floyd County Police Department at 12:53 AM Wednesday for choking a victim. According to Floyd County Jail Records, Keith Allen Maldonado of a Nanellen Road address allegedly placed a victim in a choke hold for one minute, making the victim fear for their life because they were unable to breathe. Police stated that Maldonado also caused physical injuries to the victim. Maldonado is being charged with felony aggravated assault and battery (family violence).

A 20-year-old Silver Creek man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday for charges related to battery. According to Floyd County Jail Records, Brandon Christopher Pearson of a Harmony Road address allegedly struck a victim before dragging them out of his vehicle in an altercation that occurred at a location on East 2nd Avenue. Rome police stated that 2 young children were present to witness the incident.  Pearson is being charged with 2 counts of cruelty to children in the 3rd degree, reckless conduct, and felony battery (family violence).

A 63-year-old Rome man was arrested at his residence by the Floyd County Police Department at 4:30 PM on Tuesday for shooting at a victim during an argument. According to Floyd County Jail Records, Olin Jackie Dotson Jr. of a Bells Ferry Road address allegedly pulled out a handgun during an argument with a victim and shot it into the ground before pointing it at the victim. When police arrived at the scene a witness was able to confirm to police what happened during the altercation. Dotson also admitted to police that he fired the handgun. Dotson is being charged with aggravated assault.
