A 20-year-old Kingston man was arrested Tuesday at his Fulton Road home on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the warrant:
Michael Hiram Wood failed to provide adequate food, water, and sanitary conditions for a yellow lab-type dog named “Zeke.”
The dog was severely malnourished, had worms, and was anemic.
“Zeke” also suffered from a medically urgent and painful condition known as paraphimosis.
Woman facing terroristic threats and acts charge
An alleged threat made over the telephone has landed a 23-year-old Rome woman behind bars.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Jacqueline Leanna Brackett threatened to harm and kill the victim, putting him in fear for his safety.
The incident occurred on Jan. 5, according to the arrest warrant.
Brackett is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts.
Report: Woman submitted counterfeit invoice to insurance company
A 52-year-old woman from Covington was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on a felony count of insurance fraud.
According to the arrest warrant:
Bonnie Aileen Brown sent a counterfeit invoice to an insurance company, requesting reimbursement for having a vehicle towed.
The invoice, dated Sept. 27, 2022, was for $187.25.
However, it was discovered the business that Brown claimed had towed the vehicle was inactive.
Man accused of passing forged check
A Rome man is facing a felony count of 3rd-degree forgery following his arrest on Tuesday.
According to the arrest warrant:
25-year-old Kevin Chase Hamrick uttered a forged check in the amount of $2,797 at a business on Shorter Avenue back on Oct. 24.
Jail records indicate that Hamrick is also charged with a misdemeanor count of 4th-degree forgery and a felony probation violation.
