The holidays are over and now it’s time to bring one for the chipper.
The annual Christmas tree recycling program is sponsored statewide by Keep Georgia Beautiful and locally by Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful.
You can take those live Christmas trees, minus the decorations, to the Home Depot parking lot on Hicks Drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
Since its inception, more than 6 million trees have been recycled.
Despite the name, a lot of the trees never actually make it to the chipper.
Many become fish habitats in local lakes.
