Planning commission to consider rezoning for apartments on North Broad Extension

The Rome-Floyd Planning Commission will consider a rezoning application for 445 new apartments off the North Broad Extension when they meet this afternoon.

According to the Rome News-Tribune, KC Homes, who is proposing the development for the 32-acre tract located next to the North Pointe subdivision, is seeking a zoning change from Suburban-Residential to Multi-Family Residential.

Meanwhile, Greenwood Development Ventures is seeking a rezoning for an 81-home development, which would be located on 32 acres off Eden Valley Road.

Also Thursday, Cedar Creek RV and Outdoor Center will go before the planning commission to seek a special use permit for a paintball facility and additional recreational vehicles.

Thursday’s planning commission meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Sam King Room at Rome City Hall.
