Man arrested for child molestation, statutory rape for an incident in 2018

A Rome man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with child molestation, statutory rape, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

According to the warrants:

25-year-old Bilmer Romain Vasquez-Ambrocio took a female under the age of 16 to his Woodbine Avenue residence, had sex with her, and molested her back on Jun. 22, 2018.

Vasquez-Ambrocio was also charged with a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing the teenager with a taxi and encouraging her to leave her parent’s house in the middle of the night.

He is also accused of giving authorities a false date of birth during his arrest at a location on Shorter Avenue Wednesday.

Woman charged with child cruelty

A 37-year-old Rome woman has been arrested in connection with an incident on New Year’s Day in which she allegedly pushed a minor up against the balcony railings of an apartment on Dodd Boulevard.

According to the arrest warrant:

The victim told authorities that he thought Hannah Natoya Nesbitt was going to push him over the railings.

Nesbitt is charged with a felony count of 1st-degree cruelty to children.

Polk County man facing aggravated child molestation charges in Floyd County

A Rockmart man is accused of traveling to Floyd County to meet someone he thought was 14 years old for the purpose of engaging in sex acts.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Jaylon Shamontae Ware made online contact with the person, sent pornographic videos, engaged in graphic conversations, and asked for nude pictures before trying to meet up.

During his arrest, Ware was found with less than an ounce of marijuana.

He is charged with aggravated child molestation (criminal attempt), sexual exploitation of children, use of a computer to entice a child, electronically furnishing obscene materials to a minor, obscene internet contact with a child, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Search warrant nets arrest on drugs, weapons charges

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a home on Flora Avenue Wednesday and arrested a Rome man on multiple charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

54-year-old Billy Joe Cook had multiple containers of methamphetamine, four suspected hydrocodone pills, one suspected oxycodone tablet, digital scales, glass smoking devices, bags of prepackaged marijuana, and a .22 caliber handgun.

The report stated that Cook is a convicted felon.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
