A Lindale man was arrested at his Lakeview Drive home on New Year’s Eve after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman’s head.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jared Thomas Michael Sanders also threatened to kill the victim and her son.
He then left the scene, taking the victim’s handgun and iPhone with him, which prevented her from calling 911.
Sanders is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, pointing a firearm at another, obstructing someone from calling 911, felony theft by taking, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
Report: Burglary suspect used Arizona identification during traffic stop
A Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree burglary.
According to the warrant:
32-year-old Lucas Lee Miller entered a residence on McHenry Drive back on Oct. 10 and stole jewelry.
He is also accused of providing the identification of another person in order to evade address during a traffic stop on Maple Avenue on Oct. 14. That ID had been lost by an Arizona man, according to the warrant.
Miller is additionally charged with theft by taking, the use of the identification of another person without consent, identity theft, and theft of lost or mislaid property.
Calhoun woman accused of burglarizing storage unit
A Calhoun woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of 2nd-degree burglary and criminal damage to property.
According to the arrest warrants:
39-year-old Natasha Net Floyd entered a storage unit on Martha Berry Highway in Rome and took two model airplanes belonging to the victim.
She also damaged the door panels and locks of 45 roll-up storage doors at the facility.
The incidents date back to May of 2022, according to the warrants.
Man charged with meth possession and forgery
Methamphetamine and a couple of fake $100 bills landed a 52-year-old Rome man behind bars early Monday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Melvin Mack Marbury ran from officers when told he was under arrest.
He is also accused of repeatedly calling 911 and telling dispatchers that there were people in his home on East 9th Street when there was no one there.
Marbury is charged with possession of meth, 1st-degree forgery, obstruction of officers, and improper use of 911.
Man charged in drug conspiracy
A 34-year-old Rome man was charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act and the use of a communications facility to commit a crime involving drugs following his arrest on New Year’s Eve.
According to the arrest warrants:
Zachariah John Schlitz used a cell phone to contact another man for the purpose of possessing methamphetamine and heroin.
The alleged crimes occurred on Nov. 3, according to the warrant.
