The Rome area saw a slight increase in first-time claims for unemployment insurance last month.
The number of claims went from 357 in June to 405 in July.
There were 514 initial claims in July of 2021.
Bartow County reported 237 first-time claims in July, down from 242 the month before.
Gordon County was down from 399 to 295 over the month.
Polk was up slightly from 72 to 89 and Chattooga County went from 92 jobless claims in June to 111 in July.
The Georgia Department of Labor also reports that the Rome area had 42,300 jobs in July, which is the same as in June, but up by 1,300 from July of last year.
