Area residents are invited to celebrate Earth Day Friday at Lock and Dam Park.
Rome Environmental Compliance Manager Brian Roberts will lead a Lunch and Learn to discuss the importance of a healthy soil structure starting at noon.
According to Mary Hardin Thornton with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation, the event will not only kick off Earth Day, it also kicks off The National Association of Conservation Districts Stewardship Week.
“The Lock and Dam is such a treat,” she added. “We want everyone to bring their lunch. We’ve got a great activity room and we’ll do a little presentation, and then we will walk around. If you’ve never been out there, it’s going to be a beautiful day on Earth Day this Friday.”
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.
