February 23, 2022–10:30 a.m.

FLOYD COUNTY GOVERNMENT

February is recognized as African American History Month and on Tuesday the Floyd County Commission recognized three individuals who continue to serve the greater good of the community.

Dr. Robersteen Howard, Gary Allen Jones, II, and Christopher Twyman were nominated by citizens and selected by the commission for recognition.

They join citizens such as Professor Edward S. Brown, Henry Chubb, members of the 1963 Student Sit-Ins, Elgin Carmichael, Napoleon Fielder, Judy Sims, Samuel Burrell, and the many others who created a legacy of leadership, courage, and citizenship that helped shape Floyd County into the place it is today.
