Cartersville Police respond to shooting incident, one arrested

CARTERSVILLE POLICE

A Cartersville woman was recently arrested after she reportedly shot a gun during a domestic altercation on Brookside Court.

According to a Cartersville Police report, the victim stated that 53-year old Tanya Estella Brooks and he got into an argument about him cheating.

She then shot out the back, passenger side of his vehicle.

Brooks told police that the victim had come over to visit their dog but continued to hang around, while being parked in the driveway before knocking on the door again, asking for his work clothes.

Brooks stated she grabbed the clothes, put them in a trash can, and poured bleach on them.

She then said she thought the man was messing with her vehicle and that’s when she went outside, closed her eyes, and fired the gun.

Brooks was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and criminal trespass-damage to property.
