Man charged with animal cruelty, child cruelty

FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 36-year old Rome man turned himself in at the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with cruelty to animals.

According to the warrant, Jarvis Darrelle Adams failed to seek veterinary care for his dog after had been struck by a car, resulting in the animal’s leg having to be amputated.

The dog also suffered from hookworms and fleas.

Adams was also charged 2nd-degree cruelty to children and nine counts of contributing to the deprivation of a child.

Authorities say the children he was responsible for were living in deplorable conditions.

The report states the children had no access to running water or a toilet.
