September 28, 2021–10:09 a.m.

NEWS RELEASE

Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services (P.A.W.S.) has been chosen out of a select few to participate in this year’s Pet Adoption Day at the Governor’s Mansion.

This event will take place on the grounds of the mansion Sunday, October 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to help the beloved pets at P.A.W.S. find their forever homes.

This will be the fourth annual event of the Pet Adoption Day and Georgia Grown Festival to take place at the Governor’s Mansion, and the first time P.A.W.S. has had the opportunity to participate in the event.

To date, the event has helped over 100 dogs, two cats, and one hamster find their forever homes.

Jeff Mitchell, Director of P.A.W.S. stated “This is a great opportunity to help our wonderful pets here at P.A.W.S. find a forever home. It’s also a great opportunity to show others in the state how committed Floyd County and P.A.W.S. are to animal welfare and our commitment to helping our beautiful pets find loving homes to grow old and healthy in.”
