Pipeline project in Rome about 89% complete

July 25, 2021–5:54 p.m.

STAFF REPORTS

Crews continue to work on the Atlanta Gas Light pipeline extension in Rome.

The entire project is approximately 89% complete and they expect to be done with the full project, including restoration, by fall.

According to a statement from the utility, “Atlanta Gas Light remains committed to leaving the community in as good, or better, condition than before we started the pipeline enhancement project.”

The project, which includes approximately 7.8 miles of 12-inch steel pipeline, begins at the intersection of Shorter Avenue and Redmond Circle and ends at Kingston Highway and Goodman Road.

The new pipe will be tied to AGL’s existing system on both ends.
