Floyd County Schools –

Coosa High School (CHS) has announced Hannah Harmon as their new head girls volleyball coach.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Hannah Harmon as head volleyball coach at CHS. She brings a wealth of volleyball knowledge and experience. Coach Harmon and her family are invested in the Coosa Community and we are excited about the excellence she will bring to our volleyball program,” said CHS principal La Donna Turrentine.

Coach Harmon has spent most of her life as a volleyball athlete, coach, or referee.

Originally from Tennessee, Coach Harmon lettered in softball and volleyball all four years at Bradley Central High School. She received a volleyball scholarship to attend Bryan College, where she graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Science Education.

“I am honored to become the next head volleyball coach at Coosa High School. I am excited to carry on the tradition of the program at Coosa set by previous coaches and players. I am blessed to have the opportunity to impact student-athletes in a positive way during their time at CHS that continues into their adult life. Coaching is a calling the Lord has instilled in our family and we are excited to continue to fulfill this calling through athletics and beyond in the Coosa Community,” said Harmon.

Hannah Harmon’s coaching experience includes serving as the head volleyball and softball coach at Rhea County High School in Tennessee for six years and the head coach for ages 16-18 for the C4 Explosive Volleyball Club for seven years. She also refereed high school volleyball for the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) for two years. Coach Harmon was most recently the head coach for the Coosa Middle School girls volleyball team this past season where she serves as a special education teacher.
