Georgia gas prices dip slightly

October 16, 2020–8:00 a.m.

AAA SOUTH

Georgia gas prices decreased slightly at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.99 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 1 cent less than a week ago, 5 cents less than last month, and 52 cents less than this time last year.

It now costs motorists $29.85 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that is $11.25 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019 when pump prices hit their peak of $2.74 per gallon.

A slight decrease or no changes in pump prices are likely to continue into the fall season as motorists take fewer road trips, especially amid the pandemic.

Local averages on Monday were $1.94 in Floyd County, $1.96 in Gordon County and Polk County, $1.97 in Bartow County, and $1.90 in Chattooga County.
