Rome City Commission meets Monday

September 27, 2020–12:51 p.m.

STAFF REPORTS

Rome City Commissioners will consider a revised TAD III Hotel Development document when they meet Monday night.

Developers are seeking Tax Allocation District funding for a 92-room hotel adjacent to the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

The City Commission approved the $1.72 million dollar TAD earlier this month, but the Floyd County Commission voted against participating.

Under a TAD, net new property taxes go back to the developer for a certain period of time to help defray development costs.

Also Monday, the commission will consider an amendment to the teen curfew ordinance which prohibits anyone under the age of 17 from being out past 11 p.m. with some exceptions.

Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

The caucus starts at 5.
