GA DPH COVID-19 Status Report for May 5th

GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports five new COVID-19 cases in Floyd County over the last 36 hours.

The total number of positives since the pandemic began is now at 150.

There have been three additional hospitalizations bringing the total to 39.

Floyd County remains at 11 deaths.

Statewide, there have been 29,423 COVID-19 cases, as of 4 a.m. Tuesday, up from 28,761 Sunday evening.

There have been 1,246 deaths, 5,536 hospitalizations, and 1,292 ICU admissions.

Over 198,000 tests have been administered across the state.

Gordon County has had 116 confirmed cases, 28 hospitalizations, and 13 deaths, which is up by one from Sunday evening.

Bartow County has had 341 cases.  121 Bartow residents have been hospitalized and 31 have died.

Polk County has reported 60 total positives, 11 hospitalizations, and no deaths.

Chattooga County remained flat with 15 cases, 3 hospitalizations, and two deaths.
