Silver Creek man killed in ATV Accident in Cedartown

(via WGAA Radio) Polk County 911 received a call to the area of 4006 Johnson’s Lake Road near the Blooming Grove community, on Saturday night around 8:46 p.m. that a “Razor” type recreational vehicle occupied by two individuals had lost control and had flipped several times.

The driver, James Hunter Dickinson, age 23, of a Silver Creek, Georgia address was ejected from the ATV and sustained critical injuries on the scene.

Redmond EMS, Cedartown Fire & Polk County Fire & Rescue units responded and requested a Life-flight Helicopter as well.

Mr. Dickinson’s injuries were such that EMS transported him to Polk Medical Center’s ER for additional care, however, before the Helicopter could lift off The victim went into Traumatic Cardiac Arrest and was taken back into Polk ER for additional critical care treatment, according to Polk County Coroner Tony L. Brazier.

Brazier said, that ER physicians worked with the victim until almost midnight but he was pronounced dead around 11:46 p.m. at Polk Medical Center’s ER. A female passenger who was also in the “Razor”ATV was also injured and transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center’s ER in Rome for treatment.

The Georgia State Patrol & the Polk County Police Department is investigating the accident and were assisted by the Polk Co. Sheriff’s Department as well.
