February 2, 2020–7:21 p.m.

FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A Silver Creek man is facing a long list of charges after he allegedly used a stolen vehicle to ram two police cars as he was trying to avoid capture Friday evening in the area of the connector and Garden Lakes Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 24-year old Jordan Tyler York also sped through business parking lots during hours of operation and struck another vehicle while traveling through a narrow alleyway.

He then drove off the roadway, crossed over two lanes of traffic on Hillside Avenue and struck a power pole, breaking it in half.

Tyler reportedly got out of the vehicle and fled on foot before struggling with officers, injuring a couple of them.

He was also found with a stolen firearm, according to the report.

York, who is a convicted felon, is also facing charges in connection with a series of incidents on January 23 in which he entered a garage on Highlander Trail in Rome and entered a van, taking prescription medication.

When confronted by the owner of the van, York pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to shoot him.

York also allegedly entered a van belonging to a construction company on Shorter Avenue and another van owned by a real estate company on Hicks Drive.

Multiple tools were taken from both vans.

Police say York also entered a Toyota Corolla on Riverside Parkway and took a woman’s wallet.

York is charged with aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, felony obstruction of officers, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, 1st-degree burglary, pointing or aiming a gun at another, theft by taking a motor vehicle, three counts of theft by receiving stolen property, terroristic threats and acts, 1st and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, hit and run, two counts of interference with government property, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of entering an automobile, 19 counts of possession of a controlled substance (including suspected heroin and oxycodone), theft by taking and criminal trespass.
