Child struck by vehicle at Calhoun Walmart expected to recover

UPDATE:

Calhoun Police have released the accident report concerning an incident Sunday afternoon where a 3-year old child was struck by a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.

According to the report, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling in the parking lot at a low rate of speed when the child, who was standing between two vehicles, darted out into the travel lanes.

The child ran into the passenger side of the vehicle, then fell to the ground and was run over by right rear of the Jeep.

The child was airlifted to Erlanger’s T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

A three-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Calhoun Walmart Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 1 p.m.

According to Calhoun Police, the toddler was airlifted to T.C. Thomson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
