[VIDEO] Elevation House – WRGA Community Spotlight

November 28th, 2019

Ethan Garrett – Digital News Editor/Video Reporter (WRGA News)

On this Community Spotlight presented by WRGA News, we take a look at Elevation house and what they do for the Rome/Floyd County Community.

We spoke with executive director Carrie Edge in the video below about the opportunities for friendship, life skills, employment, education, and housing that Elevation House helps to provide for its members to recover from mental illness and fully participate as valued and respected members of society.

Elevation House provides people living with mental illness hope and opportunities to reach their full potential. The clubhouse will operate on proven standards that have been developed by Clubhouse International over two decades and which are effective in over 300 Clubhouses worldwide.

Whether it’s to lend your culinary skills in the kitchen or to assist a member who is trying to apply for jobs with an application/resume, The Elevation House is always looking for volunteers (and Interns) that assist with their daily program that occurs from 9 AM to 2 PM Daily.

Financial support is definitely needed and greatly appreciated as Elevation House does not receive money from the State of Georgia for the therapeutic service they provide for the members of the Rome/Floyd County community members living with mental illness. Donations of items like non-perishable organic foods, paper, and dish detergents, are also welcome.
