Two arrested following pursuit in West Rome

Two Cedartown men were arrested on multiple charges after one of the men failed to stop his vehicle for police in the area of Shorter Avenue and Coker Drive Friday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 34-year old Randy McClarity Jr. was observed pickup up a box full of marijuana from the UPS store.

When police tried to stop McClarity’s vehicle, he took off.

During the chase, the box of marijuana was thrown out of the window.

Once stopped, McClarity and 25-year old Deonquavious De’Shawn Williams were arrested and charged with felony marijuana possession, abandonment of dangerous drugs and possession of a THC cartridge.

McClarity is also charged with fleeing or attempting to elude and a number of traffic violations.
