The walls are going up on a new warehouse for the Salvation Army, located next to the organization’s headquarters on East First Avenue.
The building will hold food and clothing the non-profit distributes to the needy, according to Captain Douglas McClure. Construction is about three days behind schedule. McClure said the anticipated completion date is December 6—the same day as the annual Can-A-Thon.
No donations are being used to construction the building. McClure said the money is coming from money bequeathed to them from estates and legacies. Hear more from Capt. McClure during WRGA's newscast from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday morning.
