Woman jailed on charges of theft by taking a motor vehicle

A Silver Creek woman was jailed Wednesday, accused of stealing a motor vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 33-year old Brandi Rose Banks of Abrams Road took the vehicle without consent on Tuesday and would not return it.

Police say Banks was also found in possession of pills identified as the generic versions of Xanax and Zoloft.

Banks is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drugs not in the original container.

Two people were arrested on drug charges on New Calhoun Highway Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, a baggy of suspected methamphetamine and several pipes were found in the vehicle, which had been stopped for a cracked windshield.

A stolen street sign was also found in the vehicle, according to the report.

22-year old Mark Richard Underwood of Hatfield Road and 21-year old Joshua Corbin Adams of Rooney Road are both charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects and misdemeanor theft by receiving stolen property.

Adams was also cited for driving with a cracked or busted windshield.

 

Woman arrested on forgery, false statements charges

A 31-year old Rome woman is facing felony charges after allegedly signing another woman’s name to a traffic citation.

According to Floyd County Jail records, the incident occurred on May 1 when Terita Terri Mitchell of a Burnett Ferry Road address was stopped by Floyd County Police on Cedartown Highway.

Mitchell is charged with 1st-degree forgery, false statements and writings, a misdemeanor count of giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement, and a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

 

Man charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, tampering with evidence

A Rome man is facing a felony charge after allegedly trying to destroy an illegal substance during a traffic stop at Todd Street and Highway 53.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 38-year old Timothy Carey Horton Sr. of a Hennon Drive address admitted the substance was synthetic marijuana for getting high.

Horton also had rolling papers, according to the report.

He is charged with tampering with evidence, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

 

Man charged with meth possession

A 34-year old Silver Creek man was arrested Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine.

According to the warrant, Roderick Davion McKnight of Woodruff Street was at work when methamphetamine fell out of his pocket.

The incident occurred on July 8, according to the warrant.

 

Report:  Convicted felon had firearm

A Cave Spring woman has been arrested on a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 34-year old Lisa Yvonne Dickson had a 9mm handgun in her home on Cave Spring Highway.
