Elbert County FFA Needs Help

I ask that if you decide to share this email, please do not use my name. This email is simply for the recognition of our FFA Show Team.

I am writing to you as a proud mother and citizen of Elbert County. Our high school children have lost their FFA barn and everything in it EXCEPT the cows. By the Grace of God, they were saved.

The lightning we had during a thunderstorm Saturday night caused the fire and none of the equipment was salvageable (I attached a photo of what is left). The FFA teacher, Mr. Bilo, has
reached out to neighboring schools  and, they have graciously  helped with any equipment they could. However, it is not enough.

The first show is coming up on Sept. 14th and the children are determined not to let this stop them. These kids may not wear helmets, cleats, and shoulder pads but, they represent Elbert County Comprehensive High School just as proudly.  These kids have shown determination beyond belief and have pulled together not as classmates, but as a family. A FFA family and they firmly believe in their motto: Learning to do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.

I ask that if anyone can help even with prayers, our FFA team members and community would greatly appreciate it.
P.S. Just as a fun fact, did you know that Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, and Taylor Swift (just to name a few) were all FFA members?
